Q: Does God still answer prayer today?
Yes! He does!
Just as God answered prayers in the Bible, he continues to answer prayers today. And as these prayer testimonies attest, he often answers in powerful and unexpected ways.
God asks us to seek him as part of our daily life. Whether we're using a daily devotional to center ourselves each morning or engaging in a life of prayer throughout the day, we can seek out and talk to God at any time.
Q: Does God answer prayers?
God wants us to reach out to him in prayer, but he doesn’t always answer the way we want or expect. He may say:
Yes. Sometimes immediately, in a little bit, or later on.
Not right now. God may answer at some point in the future or may direct you on a path. God’s timing may be different than the timing we want, however.
No. Sometimes God tells us no. It may not make sense now, and it may not necessarily make sense in the future.
It’s OK to wrestle with God and express your anger, frustration, or disappointment in his answer while still trusting that he loves you.
Expressing your feelings to God maintains your relationship with God in an honest and real way.
Q: What do these testimonies of answered prayer tell us about God?
Steadfast love — We can directly seek out the source of love, for "God is love." (1 John 4:8) How amazing it is that we can have a dwelling place in God's love?
God's answers — We can seek the will of God. One of the most amazing things about God's word is how he promises to answer. His answer may not always be the answer we want (sometimes his answer is "no" or "not now"), but we can trust that when we approach God, he is listening and actively engaging with our prayers.
Great power — Anyone who has prayed for a sick person to be healed, and they were, can attest to this! I don't always understand why God heals some but not others, but I can trust that the mighty hand of God is at work. Through believing in his son Jesus, we can be confident that we'll one day be reunited with God in heaven.
God's plan — We can seek out the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. We can be assured that God works in all things for good, and whatever we're going through in the moment, we can find comfort that, as children of God, he is working toward our good.

Prayer journals and devotionals are wonderful tools to help you trust God’s timing.
