God answers prayer: Discover our collection of prayer testimonies and stories
God answers prayer in many ways. Sometimes it’s a deep sense of knowing. I joke that God lives in my gut, as my intuition has been refined during my years as a journalist, and I always regret not following it. Sometimes people hear a whisper or the voice of God. Others see pictures or images or movies with special meaning. Some like to journal while they pray, although that’s not necessary. The key is to ask and then to listen.

Does God answer prayers?
As Christians, we believe God hears and answers our prayers. It’s common to feel frustrated, discouraged, or to start doubting God if he has not answered your prayer yet. One way to think about God’s answer to prayer is the various ways he may respond:
Yes. God may answer immediately, in a little bit, or later on. An example is when Jesus promises the disciples that God will give the Holy Spirit to all those who ask (Luke 11:13). God’s timing may be different than the timing we want, however.
Not right now. God may answer at some point in the future or may direct you on a path.
No. Sometimes God tells us no. It may not make sense now and it may not necessarily make sense in the future. It’s OK to wrestle with God and express your anger, frustration, or disappointment in his answer while still trusting that he loves you. Expressing your feelings to God maintains your relationship with God in an honest and real way.
